Privacy Policy

Effective October 11, 2026

The short version: we collect what we need to run Questionly, meaning your account, your practice history and what you submit for the AI to work on. Problems, answers and homework photos are sent to Google's Gemini AI to be processed. We don't store your homework photos, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads. You can delete your account and data at any time.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details: your email address and password. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and stored in hashed form, so we never see them.
  • Phone number (optional): only if you choose to add one in your account settings.
  • Practice data: the topics and difficulty you choose, problems and problem sets generated for you, your answers, whether they were correct, and your progress history.
  • Homework scans: photos or PDFs you upload. They are processed to create a practice problem and are not saved by us afterwards. The generated problem is saved to your history.
  • Usage counts: how many problems, checks and scans you used each day, so we can apply plan limits.
  • Payment details: if you buy Premium, payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep only the Stripe customer and subscription IDs needed to manage your plan.
  • Technical information: your IP address, used to apply daily limits to guests and to protect the service from abuse, plus standard server logs.
  • On your device: the app saves your history and display settings (theme, dark mode, text size) in your browser's local storage. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

2. How we use it

  • To run Questionly: generate problems, check answers, read scans and save your history and progress.
  • To manage your account, your Premium subscription and plan limits.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • To answer you when you contact support.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

3. Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run Questionly, and only what they need:

  • Google (Gemini API): the topics you choose, problems, your answers and your uploaded photos or PDFs are sent to Google's Gemini AI to be processed. Google handles this data under its own API terms.
  • Supabase: hosts our database and handles sign-in.
  • Stripe: processes Premium payments.
  • Our hosting provider: runs the website and its servers.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the service.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your account and practice data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your account and the data linked to it. Daily usage counts are short-lived records used only for limits. Stripe keeps payment records as required by law.

5. Your choices

  • You can clear your practice history in the app at any time.
  • You can delete your account, along with its data, from the Account section of the app.
  • You can use Questionly as a guest without an account. Guest history stays only in your browser.
  • You can email us to ask for a copy of your data or to correct it.

6. Children

Questionly is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

7. Security

We use access controls and encrypted connections to protect your information. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you don't use anywhere else.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
